From San José to Fortuna Direct Bus:
Buses depart at 6:00am- 12:30 PM from the old Puntarenas bus station, located at Calle 14, Avenida 11 & 9. The morning bus passes by Quesada at about 9:00am arriving to Fortuna at11:00am. The afternoon bus passes by Quesada at about 3:30pm arriving to Fortuna at 5:30pm.

From San Jose to Fortuna by Shuttle Bus : La Choza Inn offer a shuttle service leaving from San Jose to Arenal at 9:30 AM, It’s the faster and the easy ways to get to arenal, instead to take the local bus which is very crowded and a long journey. If you are on a tight budget, it is fine ( and nice to hang out with the ticos) but if you want a little more comfort and not so much stopping then do one of the shuttle services.
